Some have said depending on your version of the Firmwire or ware or something if you have 2.0 upgrade to 2.1 it's supposed to fix problems like you mentioned in the previous journal entry.

Some other suggestions where to reformat it and start from scratch but to make a back up..

I won't be able to ask my classmate til tomorrow. I'll see what he says, these are mearly suggestions that I found by googling the error code.

Most users have had no problem with sony giving them a new ps3 or refurbed replacement. when talking to them and dealing with customer service.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3. I have nothing but good things to say about almost every aspect of the machine.

But today, for no reason, my PS3 crashed and died.

I got an error message 80010514. That means that it is not a physical thing, it is simply a software fuck up. However, unlike most software fuck ups this one is the mother of all fuck ups.

There is nothing I can do to fix it. It is dead. And I have a feeling Sony aren't going to make good on any offers to fix it.

It is entirely their fault, it is 100% an inherent software issue yet I am going to have to pay to fix it.

And as if to mock my frustration over this incident IGN just ran the following poll.

Really IGN, today of all days.

That's cold.

Actually, that error is infact hardware related. :(

Usually in conjunction with a failing/failed Blu-ray.

But, not always.

Hope ya' get it sorted soon.

Oh, does the system boot up at all?

Wondering if you've tried restoring the unit back to factory defaults.

Got an interview with the Irish Medical Times tomorrow.

I have lost count of how many applications I have sent out and how many jobs applied for and now an Interview.
